Tech bros need the vaccine now!

I am quite disappointed with the media. They are so focused on everyone getting shots and showing it on TV. But, they forget the most important segment of the population who are changing the world.

The Tech bro. The main people who need this vaccine now. Its quite important that they get the vaccine right away and be moved to the top of the list.

Here are my clear, sensible and logical reasons why:

1. Tech people are the backbone of our economy.
2. They work from home. Everyday! They wake up in the morning and walk over to their laptops and standing desks in their sweatpants and t-shirts. That’s a long commute.
3. They energize themselves with their $1000 coffee machine which spits out perfect coffee to start the day. They have lost the chance to go buy their $8 frappes and lattes and have to instead purchase the finest money can buy coffee machines at home. They have to now manually do it themselves than be served. So, much button pressing when they could be saving the world.
4. They move out of small apartments and expensive neighborhoods to move into small towns and smaller quaint locations to setup base. And they over pay and buy property with their great credit scores so that they can work from home to keep the global economy functioning.
5. They don’t travel much nowadays and are locked in but when they do , they pull out their zero emission Teslas and cruise over to places but with total avoidance to any public transportation.
6. They have to deal with getting their essentials but also they wants via ecommerce websites and apps. They want to shop and buy amazing things but are confined to buy it and have it delivered to their homes right outside their doorstep.
7. They move their children to separate rooms in their houses so they can also get on Zoom calls from schools and have the latest technology so they don’t have any disturbances.
8. They can’t get their houses and dishes and other important things in their house cleaned or repaired often and have to avoid contact with labor which they could hire on a whim. They are confined to have to do it themselves and would rather not.
9. They quietly suffer and confine themselves to entertainment on their 65+ inch TV’s with the latest binge shows on netflix and other online shows and discuss it at length with their friends while sipping adult beverages consistently. Consistent is too harsh. More like routinely.
10. Unable to stretch their legs and unable to handle their immense stress, they are forced to buy $3000 and $5000 Pelotons and Mirror By Lululemon machinery to keep their hearts pumping because they don’t want to step outside.
11. When I say Tech bro, I know. I am being too confined. Its not just the high paying stock broker or the VC or startup CEO , but also remote workers like eastern European backend engineer or a south Asian support engineer. We need to use this term for all the folks who have this sad lifestyle today.

Give them the vaccine. They need it the most. I urge governments across the world to think of their poor plight and summon the good angels in their hearts to realize their plight. Help them as much as you care for the essential workers, government workers and senior citizens. They can all wait. We need the world which is quickly moving towards automation to be looking at our silent heroes and the only way to reward them other than stock options, money and benefits with the vaccine. So, Please. Move them up the list.
